Welcome to our Web site for reaffirmation of accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
All of us associated with South Florida Community College pledge our continuing efforts to respond to the higher educational interests of our students and the communities where they live and work. Throughout the past four decades, this college served a diverse population of students of all ages, of all interests, and of many backgrounds and experiences. These individuals expect from us the highest quality programs and services for one or more of the following reasons.
- They are seeking an academic course of study to allow them to successfully transfer to a college or university to pursue baccalaureate and other professional degrees and credentials.
- They are seeking the necessary skills and academic preparation for successful employment either as new entrants to the world of work or to continue in their employment while expanding their options and their opportunities.
- They are seeking basic and college preparatory skills to allow the successful pursuit of their educational or career goals.
- They are seeking personal and social enrichment through lifelong learning opportunities that are interesting, challenging, and certainly fun.
SFCC supports and facilitates the civic, economic, social-cultural, and environmental development of the college’s service district through partnerships and through cooperation with other colleges and schools, with business and industry, and with all levels of government. We like to say that “community” is the most important word in our name.
An objective and continuous institutional self-assessment is essential for realizing our vision and accomplishing our mission and purposes in a manner consistent with our principle-based core values. This Web site offers evidence of our effectiveness and our efforts toward continuous quality improvement.
Through this endeavor, we are learning valuable lessons about our college and about our service district. I hope you will find this Web site helpful, and I thank you for your interest in South Florida Community College.
